First, let us turn to a brief description of the rationale behind the test design. 2. The testing of bilingual skills Any professional relies on a multiplicity of skills in carrying out the specific task assigned to his or her profession.

Due to the complexity of the skills involved in interpreting, as well as the complex nature of the phenomenon that makes up the interpreter’s basic tool – language, any test that sets out to assess interpreting skills will be faced with validity and reliability issues.
